9:30 Holy Communion celebrated by he Bishop of Horsham

We’re delighted to introduce Bishop Ruth Bushyager, the Bishop of Horsham — the first woman to hold this role in the Diocese of Chichester. 🌿
Bishop Ruth brings warmth, energy, and deep faith to her ministry, with a background in parish life, mission, and community engagement. She lives in Horsham with her husband, Ron, and their two daughters, and enjoys running and countryside walks with her dog, Maisie.

Other Roles: She is the Chair of Trustees for the Church Pastoral Aid Society (CPAS), an Anglican evangelical mission agency, and serves as a Church Independent Governor for the University of Chichester. In the Diocese of Chichester, she is the lead bishop for safeguarding, strategic development, international relationships, and ecumenical work.

Views: Following the announcement of proposals for blessing same-sex relationships in 2023, she signed an open letter expressing the belief that marriage is the union of a man and a woman, constrained by the teachings of Scripture.

We look forward to welcoming villagers, and beyond, to meet Bishop Ruth.

27th September 2025

We’ll be celebrating a very special moment in the life of our church: the Licensing of Rev Wim Mauritz as Priest in Charge. This isn’t just a formal service (though there will be plenty of lovely tradition and ceremony) — it’s also a chance for us as a community to welcome Wim officially, show our support, and look forward with excitement to the new chapter ahead. It promises to be a joyful and memorable occasion, filled with hope, gratitude, and plenty of fellowship. Everyone is warmly invited to come along, share in the celebration, and be part of this important day in the story of our parish.

Big news at St Leonard’s!
We’re delighted to welcome our new leadership team — Rev Wim Mauritz, and Rev Alex Wheeler who will be presiding at our Sunday services:
10:00 AM every Sunday in September
9:30 AM from October 5th onwards

Come and be part of this fresh new chapter at St Leonard’s — a warm welcome awaits you!
